Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 12th district since 2015, addressed several pressing national issues in a series of posts on April 13, 2026.

In her first post marking Holocaust Remembrance Day, Watson Coleman stated: “On Yom HaShoah, we honor the millions of Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. We recommit ourselves to confronting antisemitism with fierce urgency and resolve because Never Again is now and it’s our responsibility.” (April 13, 2026).

Later that day, she commented on ongoing gun violence in the United States: “I’m praying for the victims and their communities. This is already the nation’s 100th mass shooting of 2026. Senseless violence like this has no place in our society and legislation to end this epidemic is extremely overdue.” (April 13, 2026).

Watson Coleman also raised concerns about former President Donald Trump’s recent public statements: “Trump’s recent statements have led many to question whether he’s suffering from cognitive decline. Trump routinely cites his doctors who say he’s in perfect health. But his doctors have a history of outrageous statements and are on his payroll. Doctors treating him and declaring” (April 13, 2026).

Watson Coleman was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1945 and currently resides in Ewing Township at age 78. She previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010 before being elected to Congress. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas Edison State University, which she earned in 1985.
