Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New Jersey’s 12th district, posted several messages on her social media accounts addressing public safety and political issues between July 31 and August 1, 2025.

On July 31, 2025, Rep. Watson Coleman issued a warning about severe weather conditions in her district: ” Another risk of flash floods is expected this afternoon. Please be safe and remember to never drive through deep water. You may not be able to tell just how deep the water is and could easily get stuck.” This message comes as parts of New Jersey have faced increased incidents of extreme weather in recent years.

Later that day, she commented on national politics with a post criticizing former President Donald Trump and his family: “On this week’s Trump Corruption World Tour we truly go international as the President and his son’s use the force of America’s reputation to enrich themselves while weakening US standing.”

The following day, August 1, Rep. Watson Coleman addressed funding for childhood cancer research in another tweet: “When Trump tells you there’s no money for childhood cancer research, keep this in mind: He’s more worried about his rich friends’ evening gowns than America’s children.”

Watson Coleman has served in Congress since 2015 after succeeding Rush Holt Jr., following nearly a decade in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. She was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1945 and currently resides in Ewing Township. In addition to her legislative work, she holds a BA from Thomas Edison State University.
