Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts between March 31 and April 1, 2026, addressing topics ranging from civil rights to national economic issues and religious observances.

On March 31, Rep. Watson Coleman marked Transgender Day of Visibility by urging continued advocacy against discrimination. She wrote: “Transgender Day of Visibility is a time of remembrance and recognition. Today, let us recommit ourselves to speaking out against discrimination in every form.”

The following day, she commented on rising fuel prices across the country, attributing the increase to former President Donald Trump’s policies. In her post dated April 1, she stated: “The national average price of gas has skyrocketed past $4 a gallon— the largest monthly jump on record. It did not have to be this way. This energy crisis is literally of Trump’s own making.”

Later that same day, Rep. Watson Coleman extended greetings for Passover to those observing the holiday: “Happy Passover to all my friends celebrating this evening.”

Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman has served in Congress since 2015 after succeeding Rush Holt Jr., following a prior tenure in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
