Princeton University has announced the election of eight new members to its Board of Trustees, with their terms beginning on July 1. The newly elected trustees include Marco Tablada and Melissa Wu as charter trustees; Andrew Florance and Anthony Lee as term trustees; Jim Lee, Robert Long, and Anthony So as alumni trustees; and Gil Joseph as a young alumni trustee.
The outgoing trustees whose terms conclude on June 30 are Marisa Demeo, Kathy Kiely, Timothy Kingston, Elizabeth Prus Myers, Kathryn Roth-Douquet, and Morgan Smith.
Andrew Florance is the founder and CEO of CoStar Group. “Florance founded the company in 1986 while a senior at Princeton,” noted the university’s announcement. His leadership has earned CoStar Group recognition from Forbes among other accolades.
Gil Joseph recently graduated from Princeton with a degree in sociology. He served in various leadership roles during his time at Princeton and will pursue further studies at Stanford University.
Anthony Lee is managing director of Altos Ventures. He has been involved with multiple organizations including TechSoup Global and The C100. “Lee earned his bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton in 1992,” stated the release.
Jim Lee holds positions at DC Comics as president, publisher, and chief creative officer. His career includes significant contributions to Marvel Comics and Image Comics.
Robert Long retired after a lengthy career in research and development within consumer products industries. His past roles include serving as chief research officer at Kimberly-Clark.
Dr. Anthony So is a professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health leading initiatives to improve health technology access globally. He has held several public service advisory roles throughout his career.
Marco Tablada co-founded Alua Capital Management where he serves as co-portfolio manager. He previously held key positions at Lone Pine Capital LLC and Tiger Management.
Melissa Wu is CEO of Education Pioneers focusing on leadership development within education sectors. Her previous work includes efforts with The New Teacher Project and strategy consulting for The Boston Consulting Group.
The diverse backgrounds of these new board members reflect Princeton University’s commitment to bringing varied perspectives to its governance structure.
