The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) has announced that the high school state wrestling championships will return to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City from March 12 to March 14. The event is organized in partnership with IBEW Local 102.
Tickets for all sessions will be available starting at noon on Monday, January 12. All-session tickets are priced at $60 plus applicable fees and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com, the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall Box Office, or by phone at 609-348-7512. Single session reserved tickets will cost $25 plus fees and go on sale beginning Friday, January 30.
The competition begins at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, and at 9:00 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday. The Boardwalk Hall Box Office will open for will-call ticket pickup only on Wednesday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Colleen Maguire, Executive Director of NJSIAA, stated: “NJSIAA is excited to continue our partnership with Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall to host one of the premier individual wrestling championships in the country.”
Group sales are available for orders of ten or more all-session tickets, though requested seating is not guaranteed and a $5 service charge per session applies. Group orders can be placed by calling or emailing the box office.
Discounted single session tickets priced at $10 plus fees are offered for senior citizens aged 65 and over, children ages two to twelve, and students with valid grade or high school ID. These must be purchased in person at the box office during the tournament dates.
The championships mark the conclusion of statewide competitions that begin at district level and progress through regional tournaments over two weeks leading up to the finals.
Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center are operated by OVG (Oak View Group) and owned by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA). OVG manages more than 200 venues worldwide including arenas and convention centers.
