NJSIAA announces Hall of Fame Class of 2026 and award recipients

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) has announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2026 and will hold a celebration event on Sunday, March 29, 2026. The ceremony is set to take place at the Westin at Forrestal Village in Princeton.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase through the NJSIAA website until March 9.

This year’s Hall of Fame class includes student-athletes Audrey Gomez (girls basketball, St. John Vianney High School), Jack Cust, Jr. (baseball, Immaculata High School), Janet Marie Smith-Leet (cross country, JP Stevens High School), Jonathan Taylor (football, Salem High School), and Lisa Sweeney Van Ackeren (softball, Rancocas Valley Regional High School).

Tara Madigan from Northern Highlands Regional High School will be inducted as a coach for girls soccer. Bill Bruno, who served as an NJSIAA Assistant Director, will be recognized as a contributor.

Steve Shohfi, member of the NJSIAA Executive Committee and past-president, will receive the Award of Honor.

Service Awards will be presented to George Janto (NJSIAA Fencing Tournament Director), Chris Dziczek (NJSIAA Eligibility Committee Chairperson), and Debbie Stein (Bowling Operations Manager at Lucky Strike).
