Matthew Solomon has been selected to the D3hoops.com All-America Team, according to a March 24 announcement by the organization. The recognition marks the culmination of Solomon’s basketball career at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), where he earned a spot on the All-America Fifth Team.

Solomon is only the second player in TCNJ men’s basketball history to receive this honor from D3hoops.com, joining Travis Jocelyn, who was named to the Third Team in 2021. This distinction highlights his significant contributions and achievements during his time with the program.

Throughout his final season, Solomon received several accolades. He was named first team D3hoops.com All-Region and NABC All-District for the first time in his career. He also became TCNJ’s first NJAC Defensive Player of the Year and was recognized as a three-time all-conference honoree, including a first-team selection this season. During this campaign, he posted career-high averages with 14.4 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game, leading all rebounding categories in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Nationally, he ranked fourth in total rebounds (329), tenth in rebounds per game, and sixth in double-doubles.

Solomon finished his college tenure as Division III’s active leader in career rebounds with a school-record 1,034 boards. His single-season total of 329 rebounds ranks second-most for TCNJ. Additionally, he stands fourth all-time at TCNJ in assists (297) and holds positions among school leaders for points scored (1,248) and blocks (48). Notably, he set a program record by collecting 22 rebounds during an NCAA Tournament game against Pitt-Bradford last year.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Solomon was recognized academically by being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for men’s basketball on Tuesday. The Academic All-District Teams honor student-athletes who excel both on court and academically across four collegiate divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees are eligible for consideration as Academic All-Americans through further selection rounds set to be announced April 14.
