Joe McChesney earned another All-American title on March 19 during the second day of the 2026 Division III NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. McChesney reached the championship final in the 100 butterfly after posting a qualifying time of 47.27, which was the fifth-fastest in the preliminaries. He finished seventh overall in the A final with a time of 47.80, securing First Team All-America recognition.

This achievement helped move the Lions into eighth place with a total of 60 points after two days of competition. The event is being held in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Other team members also competed on day two. Steven Bendoraitis placed 20th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:38.66, while Gavin Formon finished 18th in the 400 individual medley at 3:59.02, narrowly missing out on spots in their respective B finals.

The Lions’ relay team—consisting of McChesney, M.J. Hoban, Andrew Kidchob, and Gabe Beverini—finished their morning session by placing 22nd overall in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:22.95.
