Five student-athletes from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) have received weekly honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), according to an announcement by the conference.
Nick Koch, a senior on the men’s basketball team, was named Player of the Week. Koch averaged 30 points per game across two NJAC wins for TCNJ, shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range. He scored 33 points, including a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer in an 84-82 double-overtime victory against Stockton. In another game against Ramapo, he recorded 27 points on nine-of-eleven shooting and added nine assists as TCNJ won 85-59. Over both games, Koch maintained a two-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio and played a total of 84 minutes.
Beth Evaldi earned her fifteenth NJAC Diver of the Week award after leading TCNJ at the USMMA Memorial Invite. She placed second in both diving events with scores of 235.85 in the one-meter and 258.60 in the three-meter competitions.
On the track, Maxim Rychkov was recognized as Track Athlete of the Week after setting a new program record in the 200 meters with a time of 21.26 seconds—improving his previous best by three hundredths of a second. This mark ranks fourth nationally this year and sixth all-time in Division III for that event. Rychkov also nearly broke his own record in the 60 meters with a time of 6.78 seconds before anchoring TCNJ’s relay team to another top-ten NCAA performance.
Sarah Scepkowski received her third Field Athlete of the Week honor within four weeks by scoring 3,245 points in the pentathlon over the weekend—a total that leads both NJAC and Metro Region standings and currently ranks fifteenth nationally among Division III athletes this season.
Teagan Walker completed TCNJ’s list of honorees by being named Rookie of the Week for track and field following her win in Sunday’s 5,000 meters with a time of 18:31.34. Walker is also recognized as last year’s NJAC Cross Country Rookie of the Year.
