David Muha has been named the permanent vice president for college advancement at The College of New Jersey, according to an announcement from President Michael Bernstein. Muha had been serving in the role on an interim basis since January after the retirement of John Donohue, who held the position since 2012. In addition to his new responsibilities, Muha continues as executive director of the TCNJ Foundation.

President Bernstein stated, “Since stepping into the interim role, Dave has demonstrated exceptional leadership in strengthening the college’s advancement efforts, engaging our alumni and donors, and enhancing the visibility and reputation of TCNJ. With input from a broad range of campus stakeholders, the feedback I received consistently highlighted his strategic mindset, collaborative approach, and deep commitment to the mission and values of TCNJ.”

Muha expressed his enthusiasm for his new position by saying, “It’s a privilege to serve the college in this capacity. I look forward to leading College Advancement’s efforts to promote the college and help ensure it has the resources it needs to continue to thrive.”

Muha joined The College of New Jersey in 2013. Before taking on his interim appointment earlier this year, he served as associate vice president for communications, marketing, and brand management. He is also secretary of TCNJ’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter.

Prior to joining TCNJ, Muha was chief communications officer at Drew University from 2006 to 2013. He also worked as director of communications for Rutgers Business School—Newark and New Brunswick between 1999 and 2006, and as vice president of communications for the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce from 1995 to 1998.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Georgetown University.
