U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, who serves New Jersey’s 12th congressional district, posted a series of messages on her social media account between December 14 and December 15, 2025, reflecting on religious observance, state history, and current political discourse.
On December 14, Rep. Watson Coleman marked the beginning of Hanukkah with a message to her followers: “Tonight marks the first night of Hanukkah. May these next eight nights be filled with peace, light, and joy. Chag Sameach!”
The following day, she highlighted New Jersey’s historical significance in American constitutional history. On December 15 she wrote: “Did you know, New Jersey was (on Nov 20, 1789) the first state to ratify the Bill of Rights , which took effect on this day in 1791. Now more than ever, we must uphold our shared values and work together to protect the rights and freedoms that define our democracy.”
Later that evening on December 15, Rep. Watson Coleman commented on recent political rhetoric related to former President Donald Trump: “This is a level of depravity you rarely see. Its almost hard to know how to respond to such base heartlessness.
If Trump Derangement Syndrome exists, it’s clear to see who’s suffering from it the most.
And it’s those who are depending on Trump to lower costs, make healthcare”
Watson Coleman has represented New Jersey’s 12th district in Congress since replacing Rush Holt Jr. in 2015 and previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township at age 78, she graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a bachelor’s degree in 1985.
