Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th congressional district, reflected on her achievements and outlined priorities for the coming year in a series of posts made between December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026.
On December 31, 2025, Watson Coleman wrote: “From town halls to late night vote series, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together for the 12th District in 2025— but there’s still much work left to do. Even though I’m entering my final year in Congress, my commitment to our community continues to grow in 2026.”
The following day, she shared a message marking the new year: “Today we celebrate new beginnings and the potential of the year ahead. Wishing you happiness and prosperity in 2026!” (January 1, 2026).
Later that day, Watson Coleman addressed healthcare policy issues on social media: “Because of Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress, healthcare costs have skyrocketed for millions of New Jerseyans. I’ve signed @RepJeffries’s discharge petition to extend the ACA subsidies and bring premiums back down. Speaker Johnson must bring this up for a vote ASAP!” (January 1, 2026).
Watson Coleman has represented New Jersey’s 12th district since replacing Rush Holt Jr. in Congress in 2015. Before her time in Congress, she served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township at age 78, Watson Coleman earned her BA from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
