Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 12th district since 2015, recently expressed her views on a series of legislative issues through social media. The congresswoman, known for her critical stance on Republican policies, made several remarks regarding recent political developments.

On May 16, 2025, Rep. Coleman commented on a failed attempt by the GOP to pass a tax and spending bill. She remarked “In yet another display of Republican chaos and incompetence, the GOP failed to pass their tax and spending bill because it wasn’t cruel enough for their own members.” This statement reflects her criticism of the internal discord within the Republican Party over fiscal policy.

Two days later, on May 18, 2025, she shared a brief message offering support for President Biden by stating “Praying for President Biden.” The tweet did not provide further context but showed solidarity with the current administration.

In another tweet posted early morning on May 19, 2025, Rep. Coleman criticized Republican actions in the Budget Committee. She stated “Republicans on the Budget Committee just voted to kick at least 13.7 million Americans off their health insurance to pay for tax cuts for their billionaire donors.” She further noted that “There’s a reason they wanted to do it at 11pm on Sunday – they think nobody’s paying attention.” This statement underscores her concern about potential impacts on healthcare access and transparency in legislative processes.

Coleman was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1945 and currently resides in Ewing Township. She holds a BA from Thomas Edison State University obtained in 1985.
