U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, who has represented New Jersey’s 12th congressional district since 2015, posted a series of critical statements on her official social media account on July 17, 2025. Her comments addressed recent political developments involving former President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the death of an American citizen in the West Bank.

In her first post at 17:43 UTC, Watson Coleman wrote: “The idea of Trump receiving a Nobel Peace Prize is laughable. Netanyahu’s nomination is just a tactic to validate their shared corruption. A war criminal trying to legitimize the most corrupt politician of our lifetime: there is nothing about bombing civilians that qualifies as”.

Later that day at 18:23 UTC, she commented on legislative efforts in Congress regarding cryptocurrency regulation: “Trump’s Corruption World Tour made a stop in the House this week as Republicans try repeatedly to push through Trump-backed legislation to deregulate the crypto industry. So why is Trump so keen to carve out new loopholes for crypto tycoons? Watch below to find out: https://t.co/ppZsV2EEzQ”.

At 19:43 UTC, Watson Coleman drew attention to the killing of Sayfollah Musallet, an American citizen reportedly beaten by Israeli settlers: “Sayfollah Musallet was beaten to death by Israeli settlers. He was an American citizen, just 21 years old. His death should matter and still U.S. leaders are refusing to reconsider weapons sales to the government responsible for protecting his killers. It’s indefensible.”

Watson Coleman has held office in Congress since succeeding Rush Holt Jr., and previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. She was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1945 and resides in Ewing Township at age 78. In addition to her political career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
