U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 23, 2025, addressing environmental policy, foreign aid funding, and the separation of powers in government.

In her first tweet at 17:13 UTC, Watson Coleman criticized the current administration’s stance on climate change. She wrote, “This administration is in denial of reality. Pretending greenhouse gas emissions aren’t bad for the environment doesn’t make it so. It only weakens our ability to protect ourselves and future generations from catastrophe. Slowly but surely, this administration is killing us.”

Later that day at 17:44 UTC, she commented on proposed cuts to U.S. foreign aid by House Republicans: “US foreign aid is credited with saving 90 million lives over the past 20 years, including 30 million children under the age of 5. But the Republicans’ State Dept bill cuts funding for the administration of foreign assistance by 93 percent. We should fund foreign aid not only”

Watson Coleman has served as a member of Congress since 2015 after succeeding Rush Holt Jr., following an earlier tenure in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township, she earned her BA from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
