Bonnie Watson Coleman, U.S. Congresswoman representing New Jersey’s 12th district since 2015, addressed a range of national issues in a series of recent posts on her official Twitter account.
On April 29, 2026, Rep. Watson Coleman responded to a recent Supreme Court decision by stating, “Today’s supreme court ruling, decided on ideological lines, further erodes the progress our country has made on racial equality & representation and adds uncertainty to our election system. The Supreme Court’s relentless attacks on the Voting Rights Act and the rights of minority”.
Two days later, on May 1, she recognized International Workers Day with a post highlighting the importance of labor rights: “Workers built our country. Today, we celebrate International Workers Day. So many of the issues that we face today can be addressed through collective bargaining. In Congress, I am fighting to empower workers and protect your right to organize.”
That same day, Rep. Watson Coleman also marked Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage Month by writing: “Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! During the month of May, we honor these communities, their rich culture, and countless contributions they have made to our country.”
Watson Coleman succeeded Rush Holt Jr. in Congress in 2015 after serving in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. She was born in Camden in 1945 and currently resides in Ewing Township. Watson Coleman earned her Bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
