Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared her perspectives on reproductive rights, infrastructure, and legislative collaboration through a series of posts on her social media account.
On January 26, 2026, Rep. Watson Coleman posted about the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and its personal significance to her as a grandmother. She stated, “Last week, I joined the @ReproCaucus and @PPFA President & CEO Alexis McGill Johnson to reflect on the anniversary of Roe v Wade. As a grandmother, this is very personal to me. Health care is a human right. I won’t allow my granddaughter to have fewer reproductive rights than me.”
Addressing infrastructure needs on January 28, 2026, she highlighted the importance of the Gateway tunnel project for transportation and economic growth: “The Gateway tunnel is essential infrastructure for the millions who move along this major transportation hub, for the continued economic growth of the region and the country, and for the jobs and environmental stewardship opportunities it represents.”
Later that same day, Rep. Watson Coleman commented on her professional relationship with fellow Congresswoman Ilhan Omar: “I’ve known Ilhan Omar for 8 years. She is a fierce advocate for her constituents and for working people everywhere. I’ve had the privilege of working with her on a Jobs Guarantee, a Housing Guarantee, the Public Housing Fire Safety Act and legislation to create an Office for”
Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman has served in Congress since 2015 after succeeding Rush Holt Jr., following previous service in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township at age 78, she holds a BA from Thomas Edison State University.
