Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 12th district, has recently shared her views on various topics through social media posts. These posts highlight her appreciation for healthcare workers, concerns over public safety funding, and international conflicts.

On May 6, 2025, Rep. Watson Coleman expressed gratitude towards nurses in New Jersey and nationwide by stating that “New Jersey is home to over 250,000 nurses and I am endlessly grateful for their work at keeping our great state healthy.” She extended her wishes for Nurse Appreciation Week to all nurses across the country.

In a subsequent post on May 7, 2025, she addressed a press conference held with organizations like ACLU and FWD.us regarding the Trump administration’s decision to withhold public safety funding. She noted that “Yesterday I held a press conference alongside @ACLU, @FWDus, and community safety advocates to oppose the Trump administration’s decision to withhold nearly $1 billion in public safety funding.” The funds in question support programs aiding domestic violence victims and addiction treatment.

Later that day, Rep. Watson Coleman commented on international affairs concerning Israel’s military actions in Gaza. She criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decisions by asserting that “Netanyahu’s decision to send more troops into Gaza and expand the war will only result in more loss of innocent life.” She argued it would not contribute to bringing hostages home or establishing peace but rather prolong conflict.

Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman has been serving New Jersey’s 12th District since replacing Rush Holt Jr. in 2015 after previously being part of the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006-2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and now residing in Ewing Township at age 78, she graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a BA in 1985.
