U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district, posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing energy policy, detention facility oversight, and access to clean water.
On March 20, 2026, Watson Coleman emphasized the importance of consumer-focused energy legislation. She wrote: “Energy policy should prioritize consumers, not producers. The #EnergyBillsReliefAct from @RepCasten and @RepMikeLevin focuses on lowering costs, increasing reliability, and expanding access to American-made energy.”
Later that day, she commented on the conditions at a new detention facility in Delaney Hall. In her tweet dated March 20, 2026, she stated: “Last May at Delaney Hall, @RepLaMonica, @RepMenendez, and I saw the conditions of a rushed job to open a new detention facility. The next month, 4 detainees escaped. I’m grateful that our Governor and @NewJerseyOAG are taking action to enforce the law and ensure the safety of”.
On March 22, 2026, Watson Coleman highlighted concerns about water access amid environmental and infrastructure challenges. She tweeted: “Due to a combination of climate change, outdated infrastructure, and systemic disinvestment in our most vulnerable communities, millions of Americans risk losing access to one of the most basic necessities for human life. Access to safe, clean water is a human right. That’s”.
Watson Coleman has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing Rush Holt Jr., having previously held office in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township at age 78, she graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a Bachelor’s degree in 1985.
