Governor Phil Murphy has signed legislation renewing the State’s Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) for five more years, emphasizing the importance of investing in New Jersey’s transportation infrastructure. In his statement, Governor Murphy highlighted the significance of the transportation system for residents and businesses, stating, "New Jersey sits at the heart of one of the busiest stretches of commerce in the entire world."

Congressman Frank Pallone echoed the importance of public transportation in New Jersey, emphasizing its role in ensuring accessibility for all residents. He stated, "New Jerseyans depend on safe and reliable public transportation to get to work and school."

Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, Chief of Staff to Governor Murphy, emphasized the critical role of the Transportation Trust Fund in maintaining and improving the state's transportation infrastructure. She highlighted the impact of previous funding delays on labor projects across the state, further underlining the importance of the fund's reauthorization.

Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy announced the appointment of Lisa Asare as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority. Governor Murphy expressed confidence in Lisa Asare's ability to lead the Authority, stating, "Lisa's track record in supporting mothers, babies, and families of our state over the past two plus decades makes her the ideal candidate to oversee our state’s progression in the maternal and infant health space."

In response to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Governors Phil Murphy of New Jersey and Kathy Hochul of New York expressed their readiness to support Governor Moore and the people of Maryland. They emphasized the importance of minimizing supply chain disruptions and supporting neighboring states during times of crisis.

Furthermore, Governor Murphy highlighted the launch of the State Library’s Community Center Digital Connect program, funded by the federal Capital Projects Fund. This initiative aims to address disparities in access to education, employment, and health services by investing in community facilities across New Jersey. Governor Murphy emphasized the program's role in building resilient communities and empowering residents through connectivity.

Jen Nelson, State Librarian at the New Jersey State Library, highlighted the program's mission to provide community-based access to modern infrastructure, including broadband, to improve literacy, education, employment, and public health across the state.

The distribution of funding for the Community Center Digital Connect program covers various communities in New Jersey, showcasing a comprehensive approach to addressing critical needs and enhancing community resilience.
