Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and law enforcement officials in New Jersey announced the arrest of a 26-year-old man suspected of three murders in Pennsylvania and two carjackings. The suspect, Andre Gordon Jr., was apprehended in Trenton after a series of violent acts that left communities in Bucks and Mercer counties alarmed and terrorized.

In a statement, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin expressed gratitude towards law enforcement officers for their efforts in ensuring the incident ended without further harm. He stated, “We will pursue justice for the victims and hold the defendant accountable for his reprehensible actions.”

Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, commended the agencies involved in safely bringing the incident to an end, emphasizing the daily dangers law enforcement officers face. J. Stephen Ferketic, director of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, described the events as a profound tragedy and assured cooperation with Bucks County authorities to ensure the suspect faces charges in both Trenton and Falls Township.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri expressed appreciation for the collaboration with federal, state, and local partners in apprehending the dangerous individual, emphasizing the swift action taken to prevent further harm. Police Director Steve Wilson of the Trenton Police Department extended sympathy to the victims and their families, thanking authorities for their rapid response that led to the peaceful apprehension of the suspect.

Gordon faces multiple charges in New Jersey, including carjacking, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of an assault firearm, and other offenses. The charges are accusations, and Gordon is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Carjacking carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison, while other charges carry varying penalties.

Approximately 60 officers from various agencies responded to assist in the apprehension, highlighting the coordinated effort to address the situation effectively. The defense attorney for Gordon is currently unknown.
